If you apply for a position that requires relocation, think carefully about this before you start the recruitment process.

Consider everyone

Is everyone comfortable with your decision? Have you discussed the move with your partner, or children where applicable? Could a move have an effect on your loved ones' career or schooling? Is it a realistic option from a financial point of view?

Research the area

Look into as much information as you can find to ensure that everyone concerned is comfortable with the reality of your potential new home. Consider schools, amenities, housing prices or rental options, transport links, and speak to local Councils or Tourist Information Centres

Where possible, a client may offer relocation assistance, but this is not guaranteed. If this is a prerequisite and could affect your interest in the role, then please ensure you investigate it sooner rather than later with your consultant.
