A "world-leading" European manufacturing company has struck a deal with the giant Omega Warrington business and logistics park to occupy a £23m industrial facility.
The as yet unnamed company will occupy a 240,000 sq ft warehouse building employ hundreds of people.
It has agreed the deal with Omega Warrington Ltd (OWL), a joint venture between Miller Developments and KUC Properties, in partnership with landowner, the Homes and Communities Agency, and supported by Warrington Council and the Cheshire and Warrington LEP.
Andrew Sutherland, joint managing director of Miller Developments, said: "Having secured the North West's biggest logistics deal in 2014, we are delighted to continue the momentum at the start of this year with a deal that heralds extremely positive news for local employment and the country's manufacturing sector.
"Added to the recent deal with The Hut Group, this latest signing reflects the strength of Omega's offer to the manufacturing and logistics industries, with access to a huge labour pool and manufacturing expertise within a 30-minute drive time from the site.
"The benchmark has been set for 2015, as we bring forward these developments and hopefully see more pipeline deals come into fruition."
The occupier will service its customer network from its new Warrington base, which will also include 20,000 sq ft of offices on a 20-acre site.
Cllr Terry O'Neill, leader of Warrington Council, added: "I am especially pleased that this will create hundreds of new manufacturing jobs and also that this represents business investment from an overseas company."
Work on the development is now under way with completion due this summer.Source: http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/business/european-manufacturer-create-hundreds-jobs-8504617
