Our client operates a top tier COMAH facility in Merseyside area and are currently looking to recruit an adept Maintenance Engineering Manager to provide a professional and technically competent maintenance and reliability function to both site production and facilities.
You will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of ail plant, equipment, buildings and services on the site, in order to maintain production, minimise downtime, and provide a safe working environment for all employees.
You will be expected to maintain and extend the maintenance management systems to the standards expected under COMAH, including risk based inspection programmes.
Responsible for the on-going management of engineering projects from design through installation and commissioning, using internal and for external resources, to agreed time and cost parameters
You will be responsible for the preparation of cost budgets for repairs, replacements, contract maintenance and utilities, as well as the preparation of capital cost estimates and capital cost authorisation requests
Due to the nature of the site you have the responsibility to ensure that the engineering requirements associated with all current Health, Safety and Environmental legislation are fully complied with and also be responsible for engineering input into all site process safety management requirements.
Educated to degree level in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering discipline you must be able to demonstrate significant experience of management of a maintenance or engineering department in a chemical processing operation. This experience ideally would have been gained in a top tier COMAH environment.
You will be an effective man-manager with proven skills in the supervision of a large team of multi-disciplined Engineers and Technicians complete with effective mentoring, motivation and development skills.
From a legislative perspective, knowledge of COMAH, IEC 61508, EC 61511 and DSEAR and ATEX legislations are essential
You will also be a competent Project Manager with a strong portfolio of managing capex projects within a process plant environment along with project budgeting and cost forecasting and cost centre management. Experience of management of CDM regulations also seen as key for this role.
